Being professionally a Doctor my yoga journey started a little over a decade ago,
just with Asanas or physical postures. That was irregular too. Getting on the yoga
mat was the biggest achievement then. I always reasoned it as balancing profession
and passion was a difficult task.
I have struggled with a lot of stress. Be it studying medicine, working at a hospital
with random hours, or physical stress. I was diagnosed with few conditions like
Pcos, Graves thyrotoxicosis. These were the times I was going to so much stress. I
tried everything yoga, dieting, jogging, going to gyms. Trust me nothing worked
out for me until I realized the soul reason behind this; that is the stress.
Then I found a way. Three years back it all started I decided to give up on the
stress. I even decided to give up on my dream branch of post-graduation and took
up a happier branch. I have fallen in love with my subject, my lifestyle. I have
stopped answering people’s question about my lifestyle. I don’t want to give
anybody any reason for how am living right now. Because I know I did the right
thing and am in love with my new life.
I started attending retreats and got exposed to different forms of yoga in different
places. Met likeminded people. And its then I changed. I wanted to go deep in this
path of yoga and spirituality. I did my TTC and started teaching students from
different countries and with different languages. I also conducted many workshops
and retreats. Then I started to expand my teaching slowly. I truly enjoy this journey
of teaching. All I want is to give the best of my knowledge for my students.
I am in my constant learning. I keep going back to my guru to learn more and
deeper. ‘Am learning too!’, is the key for me to teach my students. We all are
learning in different ways. I cannot promise you that I ll make your dreams come
true, but I can promise that I will definitely make a way for you to achieve your
dreams.
And biggest challenge was my health, but now I am healthy, with no signs of Pcos
or Graves. Yes of course I did take medical help too. But trust me a lot of it was
from my lifestyle modifications.
Its ok if you are too young or too old to start yoga. Your age, health, race, etc.,
doesn’t matter, you can always find a way. We all have that phase in life which
lead us to start over again and again. It’s never too late. No matter what’s happened
to you, you can always begin again.
So get ready to get on your mat !!!!!!!!!
